You have probably already heard about the Burj Al Arab or about the Palm Islands, but there are so many more Dubai attractions that could interest you. Besides the architecture monuments and the museums, there are many parks and places where you can do a wide range of activities that will turn you holiday into a truly memorable time.
During your first day in this wonderful place you will most probably feel a little tired after your flight and overwhelmed by the constant hustle and bustle and by the cultural melange of Oriental traditions and futuristic Dubai attractions that will strike you. You shouldn’t waste the day being idle, nonetheless. There are many things you can do without going too far from the hotel if you don’t have the energy to wander and visit the most famous tourist places in Dubai. You can enjoy the pool most hotels have, swimming a little in the calm water before going in the sea. You can take advantage of the great weather and sunbathe at the resort where you are accommodated or at the beach, which, depending on where you stay, can be very close to the resort. You can also benefit from the other facilities offered by most hotels: spas, massage parlours, fun parks for children, but also restaurants with traditional, as well as international cuisine and entertainment shows.
So, if you are not feeling up to adventures, you can rest for the first day, but you shouldn’t indulge in relaxation for too long. You would miss way too many Dubai attractions. For instance, the Wadi Water Park is a place where you can spend an entire day with your family without getting bored. You should definitely see the zoo, as well as the urban and the beach parks. The Dubai Desert is another one of the greatest touristic places in Dubai. Although it is a conservation reserve, there are many activities through which you can make the best out of this strange and beautiful. Desert safari and camping are quite popular, but if you want something more close to the nature, you can choose horse riding or even camel trekking. Archery and falconry are also available in the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve.
If you are more into more modern activities, you can do dune driving or even sand boarding. Once you have seen enough desert, you should head back for the water. Don’t miss scuba diving! The Arabic Gulf is stunning when you see it from the shore; just imagine how splendid it is underwater. Besides scuba diving, you can also go kayaking or skydiving. If these activities are too extreme for your taste, there are many tourist places in Dubai that are perfect for hiking or trekking, besides the Desert Conservation Reserve, thus getting the chance to get to know better the natural Dubai attractions and admire some really beautiful landscapes, quite different than those to which you are probably accustomed. Of course, you don’t have to do all these activities. But do pick your favourite and enjoy outdoor activities as well, don’t spend all your time at the famous markets, malls, clubs and restaurants.
