Under the Kind Patronage of H.E. Sheikha Wafa Hasher Al Maktoum, HMH – Hospitality Management Holdings recognized Mrs Hala Badri, Executive Vice President – Brand & Communications, du with HMH Award for Excellence for her noteworthy contribution to Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives in the UAE.
Giving away the trophy, Mr Laurent A. Voivenel, CEO, HMH – Hospitality Management Holdings, said: “At HMH we have got a long standing commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility. What matters is how we serve the social and economic good and raise the levels for the less fortunate. A lot of people suffer abuse and deprivation due to lack of economic resources. Women such as Mrs Hala Badri are playing a remarkable role in taking the lead to support meaningful development programmes and sustainable initiatives that have had an enormous impact on the well-being of our community. She is an ideal role model for others to be inspired from and we feel privileged to hand out this award to her”.
Sheikha Wafa Hasher Al Maktoum & HMH Excellence Award is a tribute to exceptional women who are playing an extraordinary role in the UAE society be it in the field of art, literature, culture, sports, environment, healthcare, business, human welfare or public life.
Holding the reins for du’s communication, Mrs Hala Badri provides strategic direction for du’s overall Brand development & Communications. She is responsible for leading, resourcing and directing the division to ensure effective management of people and resources in compliance with corporate policies and standards, sound business planning and performance management processes.
By a royal decree issued by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Mrs Hala Badri, was appointed in 2012 as a Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI) board member.
In addition to her numerous responsibilities, Mrs Hala Badri has played a pivotal role in driving du’s corporate social responsibility and sustainability initiatives to benefit the UAE society in line with her desire to groom young talent, empower women and contribute to the community. Her dedication to adding value to the UAE society is evident through her participation in several boards in the past including that of Dubai Women Establishment and Dubai Cares.
Receiving the HMH Award for Excellence, Mrs Hala Badri said, “I am truly grateful to H.E. Sheikha Wafa Hasher Al Maktoum and HMH – Hospitality Management Holdings for this honour. Mrs Hala Badri’s list of community initiatives is very long… Whether it is partnering with Shelter that is a unique, non-profit business incubation project, and one of the UAE’s most active community education platforms, offering aspiring businessmen and women a place to turn their enterprising ideas into successful reality or supporting Dubai Autism Centre or running numerous campaigns such as ‘Open Your Heart’, ‘Feekom Al Khair w Al Barakah’ (to help renovation of Emirati homes across the UAE).
Mrs Hala Badri is winner of many prestigious awards and honors including Amwal Top 50 Influential Female Leaders in the Gulf – 2014, 37th rank in Forbes Middle East’s 100 Most Powerful Arab Business Women in Listed Companies, Best All Round Technology Executive MEA Awards – 2014, Woman of the Year: Advertising, Marketing & PR Stevie Awards – 2013, Brand Leadership Award – World Brand Congress 2013, GEMAS Marketer of the Year – 2012, among others.
