A player should definitely check the tension of the string before buying a racket. It can be checked by pressing the palm against the strings. See how far it sinks and you will get to know its flexibility. A 1mm sunken depth of the strings is the ideal tension for players. For beginners, 22 – 23 lbs is a perfect tension. The tension standards vary from region to region due to how temperature affects string tensions.
There are two types of badminton grips – Towel and Synthetic. Towel grips are good for absorbing sweat but it also has high chances of accumulating germs and bacteria in this kind of grip. Therefore, towel grips will require frequent replacement.
On the other hand, synthetic grips are slick and less messy. But it also makes them less comfortable as it has poor sweat absorbing capability. Hence, it is very important that players consider these above-mentioned points while choosing a badminton racket.
