You will need to cross the Nile River and visit the city of Luxor to reach the Colossi of Memnon. These are two huge stone-built statues. These two statues represent one of the most prominent rulers of Pharaoh Amenhotep III. Although these sculptures were destroyed by a 2,000-year-old earthquake, you can still find them in good viewing condition. The earthquake created some cracks on the statues which, due to the formation of dew, give a melodic sound in the morning. So you are strongly encouraged to think early in the morning about visiting the Colossi of Memnon.
